Summer Meal Program

During the school year, kids get nutritious meals at school.  Kids are just as hungry in the summer, when school is out!  The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) helps children and teens get the essential nutrition they need during the summer months.  This summer we will serve breakfast and lunch to kids Monday – Thursday  - free!  Meals are open to all kids 18 years of age and under.  No sign-up or paperwork is required.
Complete Your 2016-2017 Meal Application Now
Great news…parents can now complete the Free and Reduced-price Meal Applications online beginning July 1, 2016.  Don’t delay, get your approval before school begins!  Simply visit https://family.titank12.com from any computer or mobile device, and click on “ Apply Today ” to get started.  The online application is available in English and in Spanish.  If you need assistance or do not have a computer or mobile device to complete the application online, visit your local school office for assistance.  Only one online application needs to be completed per family.  If you have questions, please call the Alhambra Elementary School District’s Child Nutrition Department at 602-336-2985.

No Homemade Baked Goods

Just a reminder to parents that only store bought food items can be accepted for classroom use.  This is an Arizona State health requirement.

Lost and Found

If your child has misplaced a sweater(s) or jacket(s), please come into the school at your earliest convenience to check the lost and found.  If you are unable to come in, please remind your child to check for their items daily. The lost and found coat racks are conveniently located in the school nurse’s office.  Some of these items have been in lost and found for quite some time.  Please note that all sweaters and jackets should be picked up before the last day of school. All remaining items in lost and found will be donated to charity on May 20, 2016. ((Please bring an ID when visiting Catalina Ventura Elementary))

Parent Resource Room

Do you want to help your child with their work in a fun way?
Come to the Parent Resource Room in the Library.
We have many games and interactive materials to help with all sorts of subjects .
You can check them out just like a library book.
Open Tue and Thurs. 7:10-7:25

If your child is leaving school early, it is required that he/she be picked up by a responsible adult who is listed on your child’s emergency card.  Adults will be required to show a picture ID when checking out a child.  Please be sure that your child’s yellow card is up-to-date with the names and telephone numbers of those you have designated as “emergency contact” people, and that they are aware they will need to provide photo ID.  Please notify the school office in writing of any changes of address, phone numbers, and/or emergency contact changes.  We will not accept request for changes over the phone.

Playground supervision is not provided before 7:10 a.m., therefore students are not to be sent to school before that time unless they are participating in the breakfast program.  Students who arrive for breakfast must remain in the cafeteria until 7:10 a.m.  All other students should NOT arrive at school until 7:10 a.m.  Students must leave the school grounds immediately following dismissal. School policy does not permit younger children to wait for older brothers and sisters involved in after school activities.

There will be two certified teachers available to assist students with homework throughout the school year.  The Homework Hotline hours are 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.  The Homework Hotline number is 602-246-5000.

Catalina Ventura is serviced by City Wide Pest Control every third Wednesday of the month.  They will use some or all of the following: TEMPO SC ULTRA, TENGUARD, SIEGE-PRO, and MAX FORCE in the office area, cafeteria, lounge, bathrooms, and Home Ec. room.  Periodically, the exterior of the campus is sprayed for weeds before 7:30 a.m. with WEEDAR64, WEEDHOE, ROUNDUP, or SURFLAN

We will again be collecting Big G Box Tops this year.  If your child brings in 5 box tops at a time, they will earn paw pass(es) to spend at our Paw Pass Store
